The Warehouse & Distribution Support position reports to the Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor and is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and support in the following areas: Parts & Materials Handling, Stocking, Staging, Distribution (including controlled goods) & Warehousing, Receiving, Direct support to the BC Feeder Network and ERP system data entry.  This role also provides supplementary support to the Inventory, Shipping and Receiving Groups and the DND Program.


Parts & Materials Handling, Stocking, Staging, Distribution, Receiving & Warehousing

  • Picking and delivery of parts/material to Hangars & Shops
  • Locating, issuing and distribution of all parts/material (Consumables, Rotables, Raw Material & Shop Supplies) and tooling, supporting KF operations.  This includes processing Requisition Orders and staging raw material for pickup and preparation for shipment, if required
  • Identifying grains in sheet metal, as required, when processing
  • Processing Distribution Orders for hangars and out based
  • Preparing all parts/materials for stocking and locating (including packaging and labeling) 
  • Completing the restocking process for parts/material returned from Work Orders
  • Labeling and stocking of hazardous goods or expiry-controlled items are conducted within established policies and procedures. Recognizing and correcting any deficiencies in labeling
  • Ensuring parts are in standard format for stocking and ready to be picked, as required
  • Put away of newly received stock and completion of ERP transactions supporting the receipt
  • Movement and relocation of parts/material within the warehouse and completing ERP transactions to reflect the new location
  • Arranging inventory, First in First Out (FIFO) order on shelf
  • Advising the Inventory Group of parts/material with low stock levels, if no safety stock is set
  • Dormant stock sorting and removal
  • Scrapping parts/material when directed by the Inventory Group
  • Offloading and verification of incoming shipments from freight companies and Carriers, including raw material
  • Validating incoming raw material, confirming each item has proper identification prior to put-away
  • Sorting, separating and validating incoming raw material shipments, confirming proper identification and attributes, effectively locating in applicable shelves/racks/bins and ensuring hard coding is completed during the put away process
  • Assisting with the annual stocktaking of raw material in concert with the Inventory Group
  • Following the proper/safe use of equipment and identifying the best means for movement of shipments around the facility (YLW)
  • Operating and maintaining the hydraulic shear, band saw and other electrical tooling in response to raw material demands
  • Organizing and monitoring of warehouse space to ensure warehousing efficiency
  • Assisting Departments with the relocation and movement of tooling and equipment to/from Bldg. 7
  • Assisting with the management of the used tire program
  • Utilizing the KF ERP systems and reporting tools (PowerBi)
  • Participating in special project reorganizations (i.e.: Mezz, Records, Convair parts)
  • Communicating with KF departments in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner
  • Assisting and providing support to SC Groups and DND program staff, when required
  • Regular housekeeping of all workspaces to include counters, floors, shelves and staff work areas ensuring all are free from hazards, including the raw material storage area
  • Other tasks as required and assigned by Supervisor

Feeder Support 

Responsible for providing support to the BC Feeder Network program, including all duties and tasks required for the successful execution of the program, as follows:

  • Staging Mobile and Electrical equipment required for Purolator freight to be removed or loaded onto aircraft
  • Performing equipment inspections prior to use around aircraft
  • Marshalling aircraft upon arrival on YLW apron; departing aircraft
  • Assisting in the unloading of packages/containers for distribution by Purolator
  • Assisting in the loading of containers on aircraft
  • Assisting in the set up and movement of packages/containers, as detailed by flight crew
  • Securing loads prior to departure of aircraft
  • Providing direct communication to the Pilots for ground movement of Aircraft as detailed by Transport Canada regulations
  • Ensuring the effective and diligent handling of Hazardous Goods
  • Successfully complete and pass the LMS and practical training for the Marshalling of Aircraft 
  • Strict responsibility for the safe movement of staff and equipment around aircraft both under power and parked under both light and dark conditions, in all seasons
  • Highly skilled at operation of equipment around aircraft, as per KF SOP’s.  Extreme diligence and awareness around entire apron area is required to ensure operational safety levels are maintained
  • Training new staff in Feeder Operations, as required


  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to safely manage/operate large pieces of machinery including Shear, forklift and assorted Mobile Equipment (certification provided in-house)
  • Ability to obtain GSE operators licenses, as defined by KF Training Department
  • Successfully pass LMS and Practical training for the Marshalling of Aircraft
  • Strong initiative and multi-tasking skills
  • Must be able to work rotational shift work
  • Previous work experience in a customer service, parts environment would be an asset
  • Strong sense of urgency and accuracy
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office programs and Internet
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for an extended period (up to 8 hours)
  • Climbing step ladders and stairs regularly to retrieve parts from the higher shelves
  • Must be able to move/respond quickly to job requirements
