Reporting to the Millwright Supervisor, the Millwright Technician is accountable for the general mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment assets in Nutrien, Fort Saskatchewan Nitrogen Operations in a safe, timely, cost effective and efficient manner.

Millwrights install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot rotating and stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

This position is located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment, including single and multi-stage pumps, steam turbines, compressors, bulk handling and conveying systems. Work may include lubrication tasks, vibration analysis, rigging and laser alignments
  • Provide technical support and take on assignments, as required, to support the overall reliability of site systems and assets during regular and outage maintenance time frames which includes planning millwright specific work.
  • Troubleshoot process, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical diagrams, schematics, P&IDs and architectural drawings, utilizes SAP for daily maintenance activities
  • Ensure safety and housekeeping standards and maintenance procedures are followed and updated accordingly, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain equipment history and documentation identifying opportunities for improvement

What you will bring:

  • High School Diploma
  • Journeyman or Interprovincial Millwright trade designation
  • 5 years in an industrial setting
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and team skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP, planning and scheduling principles are an asset
  • Working knowledge of vibration and lubrication principles are an asset
