Skid Steer (Bobcat) Loader

Skid Steer Loaders are required on the Broadway Subway Project all through the year 2022 and will be
working as an essential part of the above ground support team supporting the Tunnel Boring work.
Job Profile Overview:
As a Skid Steer Loader Operator, you will be responsible for loading and unloading rock, gravel and dirt and perform backfilling and light excavating duties.
Working Conditions:

  • Extended shift hours in changing weather conditions
  • Noisy and dusty environments on dynamic terrains
  • Busy job environment with multiple trades working together
  • Personal Protective Equipment will be required (e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety
    glasses/goggles, etc.)
  • Construction jobs may require workers to be in good physical condition with an ability to work
    long hours.

Experience, qualifications, and certifications that are considered an asset:

  • Journeyperson or Apprenticeship Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Fall Protection, Ariel Work Platform, Confined Space Entry considered an asset.
  • Skid Steer Operator Certificate considered an asset
  • Ground Disturbance Supervisory (Level 2) Certificate considered and an asset.
  • Class 3 Driver’s License considered an asset
  • 1-2 years of experience operating Bobcat Skid Steer Loaders.
  • Must be able to conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
  • Experience working in heavy civil construction or road building considered an asset
  •  Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have an understanding and the ability to follow safe work procedures.
  • Site Ready BC including WHMIS (details will be provided by BCIB upon employment)
