Job Description


We are seeking a fully qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Port McNeil Timberlands Operation located on beautiful Northern Vancouver Island, BC.

This is a hourly United Steel Worker (USW) union position with a competitive wage rate of $45.48/hour, benefits and pension. This position requires the ability to work Monday – Friday.


  • Preference will be given to those with experience in west coast logging equipment (Yarders, Log Loaders & Hydraulic Log Loaders)
  • Fully ticketed Red Seal HD Mechanic
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Highly developed machine diagnostic and repair skills are a benefit
  • Must be a self starter and be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Available to work afternoon shifts; open to flexible hours as work demands dictate
