Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Trans Tech has a great opportunity for a Journeyman Boom Truck Operator. This Individual will be an integral member of the team responsible for assisting the loading, offloading and setting of various over dimensional loads including modules and transformers with our Jack & Slide Division. The Boom Truck Operator is responsible for following all Company and client policies, practices and procedures and representing the Company in a professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Working with and mentoring swampers / riggers.
  • Operates unit and associated equipment in a safe, responsible, and professional manner.
  • Know and follow road and crane regulations.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections including hazard assessments, calculating crane capabilities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
  • Operate the Picker to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance.
  • Operates unit and associated equipment in a safe, responsible, and professional manner.
  • Follows and complies with all internal policies & procedures.
  • Participates in pre-job hazard assessments & inspections prior to commencing any job.
  • Responsible for loading equipment and properly securing loads in a manner that ensures compliance with weight restrictions and government regulations.
  • Completes all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, while following all federal hours of service regulations.
  • Completes job tasks with personal and public safety as the top priority.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Journeyman Boom Truck Operator Certificate.
  • Must have Knuckle Boom preferred.
  • Experience with Jack & Slide operations required.
  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a 3 year commercial driving abstract.
  • Standard First Aid level C.
  • H2S.
  • Fall Protection.
  • CSTS.
  • WHIMIS 2015.
  • Successful passing of Pre-Employment A&D test required
  • Must be or willing to become a member of the Teamsters Local 362.
