Description:
TNDC is seeking candidates for the following positions in its Construction division:
- Construction Supervisors
- Heavy Equipment Operators
- Rock truck drivers
- General Labourers
- Class 1 or 3 drivers with air brake endorsement
TNDC is looking for those who are committed to a safe work environment, practice safe work procedures and arriving for work on-time and ready for work! Successful applicants will be required to work and stay in a remote camp setting during their entire shift. Work schedules may vary, depending on the jobsite.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the site supervisor, or designate, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- attend toolbox, safety and other meetings or discussions as required
- perform pre-shift and post-shift trip safety inspections, job hazard analysis, and complete daily equipment reports
- operate heavy equipment to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel, and snow
- prepare working area and adhere to all job safety requirements prior to starting work, always keeping work site safe and free of hazards
- participate in any other specified training
- assist in general labour and other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Heavy Equipment Operator certification preferred
- valid driver’s license required; must be able to provide current driving record
- valid Occupational First Aid (OFA) and WHMIS certificates preferred
- proven commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards
- able to take direction, follow instructions, adapt to changing priorities and multi-task
- strong work ethic with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- strong oral and written communication skills and able to use diagnostics
- a team player who works respectfully and cooperatively with others
Conditions of Employment
- pass mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and fitness for work assessment
- ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and maintain high levels of performance over 12 hour shifts in areas of extreme weather conditions
- proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required, depending on jobsite
