  • Schedule:    4 on/3 off, 10 hour shifts *Subject to change

Role Summary: 

The role of the HVAC QA/QC Lead is to drive, lead, motivate and support the Bouchier teams within the CNRL assets so that Bouchier continuously meets the Quality mission stated in the Bouchier Quality Policy and Quality Management Systems. The QA/QC lead is responsible for the quality of HVAC maintenance activities, including the work of their subcontractors and service providers.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Continuous improvement of the Bouchier QMS Site Cycle Model.
  • Develop / Review / Control Document standardization; Quality Manuals, Quality Plans, Procedures, Method Statements, Inspection, and Test Plans in conjunction with Senior QA/QC advisor at Head Office.
  • Keep QA/QC head Office Filing system updated.
  • Prepare Monthly QA/QC statistic reports related to activities performed at Site
  • QQSR ; NCR, CAR, PAR, % ITP Completion.
  • Preparation, implementation and follow up of inspections test records, exhibits, ITPs, and Turn Over Binder
  • Assist in the implementation of the Scope Specific Maintenance Quality Plan.
  • Conduct surveillance activities regularly and provide surveillance report
  • Accountable for reviewing and accept their sub-contractor/third-party test and documents
  • Develop surveillance inspections and quality audits
  • To maintain the TOB updated for review in a 30%, 60%, and 90% job progress
  • Coordinate the QA/QC Subcontractor, testing, and 3rd party QA/QC activities at Site.
  • Accountable for shop surveillance inspections
  • Read and interpret the various drawings used for executing the work.
  • Full understanding and Knowledge of current HVAC codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Lead the receiving material inspection process, ensuring that MTRs and certifications accompany the material.
  • Responsible for performing all aspects of inspection activities with minimum supervision.
  • Monitor operations and conduct required inspections to resolve quality-related issues with workers, subcontractors, and the client.
  • Timely completion of paperwork and turnover binder.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor conformance with the quality control system. Identifies and reports non-conformance.
  • The QA/QC Lead shall prepare documentation required for Client field verification, as applicable, but not limited to:

Inspection form/checklist

  • Understanding and highlighting progress on IFC drawings
    • Engineering changes traceability
    • Manage FCN process
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

The QA/QC Lead must demonstrate their capacity to perform:

  • Duties as a key member of the HVAC team.
  • The associated QC inspection, testing reliability and integrity, and keeping up-to-date records for regulatory reporting and audits.
  • Develop and maintain inspection procedures and techniques throughout the HVAC maintenance cycle.
  • Follow Vendor’s manuals and approved Inspection and Test Plans, Codes, and referenced Client specifications.
  • Besides, shall review and ensure that all the required quality documentation is available to their field execution team before the start of any work.
  • QA/QC Related Degree or Diploma required
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Previous CNRL (Horizon site) Inspection experience is a must
  • Understands Quality Inspection Procedures, Tools, and Equipment.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical inspection in Oil Sands maintenance activities.
  • Able to complete QC Documentation handover to Client (TOB)
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to safety
  • Good computer skills, especially in the use of MS Office.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work in a high-pressure deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, both in written and oral communications
  • Ability to complete projects on time
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019)
