As the 4th Class Power Engineer, your focus will be on maintaining a safe and efficient operation of the plant equipment at our Houston, BC, Energy Plant. You know safety is not an accident and you’re able to draw on your strong attention to detail to ensure the safety of both the plant and our people. As a true “Inspector Gadget” you will be completing regular plant rounds and will use the established check sheets as an inspection guide. You will also complete water testing, clean-up, dust auditing, and assist the plant millwright when required.
You work well with others and will keep the shift engineer informed while providing an accurate review of the plant status and identifying issues as they occur. Demonstrating a high level of initiative, you will continuously help to identify issues and opportunities for improvement on a shift-to-shift basis.
You have your Fourth-Class Power Engineering certificate, preferably with at least 1 year of industry experience. For bonus points, you have some knowledge of pellet manufacturing processes.
